The Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of
Secondary Social Studies Instructional Coach for the 2023-2024 school year. The primary role will be to work with secondary math teachers to support best practices in using data, provide analysis of school-wide trends in instruction and make recommendations about potential next steps to address areas of need. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Research and provide staff support that will enhance teaching and learning, including teaching strategies, assessment, interpretation and use of assessment results.
Research, provide information and model a range of effective and innovative practices through various activities such as: discussions (informal and formal), coaching sessions, demonstration lessons with pre-and post- discussion/analysis, study groups, department meetings and professional development opportunities.
Observe instructional delivery and provide feedback to enhance and support the development of each teacher’s content area.
Assist teachers in building an interactive classroom and assure that recommendations for improvement are implemented.
Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students.
Assist teachers in the classroom implementation of practices aligned to state and local standards.
Analyze data in order to modify curriculum, instruction and forms of assessment to meet students’ needs.
Collaborate with instructional staff and administrators on a variety of topics including curriculum, learning/instruction, data and classroom culture/management.
Help teachers develop department-wide and classroom interventions plans.
Supporting teachers, both new and experienced, in the implementation of established curriculum.
Develop and present professional development opportunities for teachers as well as attend professional development opportunities in the areas of coaching, instruction, etc.
Mentor and develop new teachers.


Missouri Certification – Social Science
Master’s Degree
Experience Teaching Secondary Social Studies


Dependent on level of education and years of teaching experience.
Nineteen years of previous teaching experience will be accepted toward placement on salary schedule.
