Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Good teamwork and networking skills. Knowledge of community and ability to work with people of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Experience and expertise in gardening. Ability and experience working with varied age groups. Ability to communicate and cooperate with children, other staff, and parents effectively and tactfully. Some computer usage required. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to organize and lead multiple projects. Self-motivated, creative, responsible, dependable, and able to work independently. Current vehicle liability insurance and a valid driver’s license required. Some computer usage required. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Essential Functions*

Work with classroom teachers and students to plan and plant gardens.
Plan and implement age-appropriate gardening activities and lessons with children in YFS programs, including Head Start.
Provide children opportunities to explore and discover in garden related environments.
Plan and provide learning and experiential opportunities in outdoor garden and farm environments
Coordinate garden activity schedules with program directors, coordinators, and/or teachers.
Maintain growing systems in Garden Education Center and coordinate maintenance of YFS gardens.
Maintain a log of garden education and activities.

Environmental Functions Perform duties in a varied environment. Required to drive and work flexible hours. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
