About the Position
The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in all dietary functions as directed and instructed by the Certified Dietary Manager or (in their absence) by the Cook, including but not limited to kitchen and dining room duties. Days/times of shifts depend on the needs of the building, but in general morning shifts start no earlier than 6:00 am and evening shifts end no later than 8:00 pm. The Dietary Aide’s schedule includes at least one weekend day. The Dietary Aide adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items. The Dietary Aide maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas, as well as ensuring department supplies are properly organized and inventoried accurately. The compensation for this position is $17-20/hour dependent on experience. We are currently interviewing for two Full-Time Dietary Aides.
Required Qualifications

Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Be able to pass a DSHS comprehensive criminal background check
Possess state identification and SSN
Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods
Be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, grasp, and reach
Be able to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
Be able to work a regular schedule that may include early mornings or evenings on both weekend days and weekdays
Demonstrate a positive attitude and present a professional image
Basic knowledge of proper sanitation and food handling practices
Be able to be self-motivated and self-directed in job duties and work independently or with a team
Be able to cope and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents/family members within the facility

Preferred Qualifications

Possess current Washington State Food Handlers Permit
Have at least one (1) year experience working in the dietary department of a skilled nursing facility or similar health care setting
